What is An Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Photofacial?
If you struggle with your complexion because of dark spots or sun damage, our team at Ageless Grace in Murrieta, CA can perform a skin assessment to determine if you can benefit from intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy. An IPL photofacial helps rejuvenate the skin and reduces hyperpigmentation problems on their neck and face. Even though a photofacial is a nonsurgical procedure, it can provide effective and beautiful results. IPL uses intense wavelengths of light energy, which heat the skin to encourage healing and stimulate collagen production. Over time, you should start to see a healthier complexion with an even tone and fewer dark spots. To help reduce the effects of sun damage, we encourage our Menifee, Wildomar, Temecula, Canyon Lake, Winchester, Wildemare, and Lake Elsinore, CA communities to call and learn more about this innovative procedure.

What to Expect with Intense Pulsed Light Therapy
IPL therapy can address several complexion issues, including brown lesions, sun spots, rosacea, melasma, or age spots. Patients can undergo a photofacial treatment without the recovery time or expense of surgery. During your consultation, we will assess your skin, listen to your concerns, and create a personalized treatment plan. Once we have a treatment plan, it takes us about 20 – 30 minutes to complete the procedure.
At the time of your appointment, one of our skilled aestheticians starts the procedure by cleaning the skin and covering your eyes with protective goggles. Next, the IPL device is carefully moved over the treatment area while emitting pulses of light energy. You may experience some discomfort, but because the treatment is short, many patients find it bearable. Once we have finished the treatment, you can resume your daily activities. Over several days, the blemishes under your skin will rise to the surface and start to flake off. To protect the skin and ensure proper healing, you should use a cream on the treated area, always wear sun protection, and avoid picking at peeling skin. While you see significant improvements after your first treatment, you usually need multiple IPL photofacial treatments. We suggest around 3 – 6 treatments for optimal results.
